A coworker tried this at an event and couldn’t stop thinking about it, so he started hinting pretty heavily to me. I told him to find me a recipe, so he did. It was a fairly complicated undertaking that included boiling cider until it was reduced down to a syrup – which made my apartment smell amazing! – but it turned out tasty. It was actually better after sitting for a day, giving the syrupy topping time to soak into the cake.
